Should Eve be blamed for making a bad choice? By viewing religious text in an analytical way, it removes the illusive power of God and simplifies his actions. In the text, God Yahweh forward with his instructions and shows no remorse towards the two when they are wrong.
Eve was in the wrong when she began to talk to the Serpant. When she interrupted him and said "We may eat of the trees in the garden, it is only about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden.", she made herself vulnerable and easy to manipulate. The serpant had the ablity to persusade Eve into do something but Eve had the ability to say no, just like she had the ability to inform him that he was misinformed about what they were and weren't allowed to eat.
I don't think Eve was given the most indepth social skills, I believe that God Yahweh gave her basic skills because he assumed that she wasn't going to run into situtations where she had to make a choice. Eve had no knowledge of what death was and she was just listening to another authoritative figure. If she was going to die, or something bad was going to happen to her, why wouldn't God tell her? Why would he make the tree "attractive" and a "delight to the eye" if it could potentially kill her? If Eden was a paradise, why was there danger lurking in the distance. Eve had about as much situtational awareness as a small child and was obviously easily swayed by anything, but God created her like this.
I believe that Eve should hold no accountability for her actions. God Yahweh created Eden with the intention that it was supposed to be a paradise. However, in order for Eden to be a paradise there should be no conflict-- it should be serene and perfect. God didn't anticipate for the snake to be coniving and he didn't anticipate Eve to be disobediant. Since he didn't equip them with proper knowledge they sought after it and he punished them severly because he didn't want to admit that he was at fault.
